These Are a Few of My Favourite Things…

It’s a well known fact that following a birthday, you are actually required to model all of the clothing that you received as gifts, all at the same time if possible. So naturally, after my 21st birthday, I was actually obliged to head out in a beaut little outfit made up of all my new favourite things…I don’t make the rules guys.

Despite Toulouse’s rainy tendencies, summer is well and truly on its way, and so I am grappling to put together some outfits that are actually suitable for the warmer weather (I spy many more shopping trips on the horizon). With this more permanent change of weather around the corner, it turns out that my birthday couldn’t have come at a better time.

So, I wanted to make a little post to share with you some of my recent favourite items…

After lusting after this Topshop blouse for a while, our love story was finally realised when we were reunited on my birthday. I have been loving puff sleeved tops for a long time now, but every time I tried on a top that looked beaut on the hanger, it seemed to make me look like a frumpy little boy (don’t you just hate it when that happens).

Fortunately, rather than transforming me into a frilly child, this top is super feminine, fitting tightly and loosely in all the right places! I also love that you can wear the sleeves on or off the shoulders.

It’s been a long while since I have bought anything with lace, but I have totally fallen back in love with this style. Finished off with the Tortoise shell buckle in the middle, I just love, love, love the detail on this top.

Of course, I had to pair this top with my all time favourite Primark jeans because, although they may not be new, they will always be one of my favourite things. I reckon I’ll be wearing these until they are genuinely falling apart at the seams…

Another one of my favourite things in my wardrobe right now is this amazing chain link bag from Topshop. This was something else that had been on my Wishlist for months, yet apparently it was like gold dust because I could never get my hands on one. Luckily, my parents managed to nab one just in time for my birthday which I was over the moon about!

This is one of those items I love so much that I am just trying to pair it with every outfit so that I can show it off. It’s the perfect mini bag, and a great way to dress up a casual outfit, I love everything about it from the colours, the style, the size, right down to the length of the handle!

These Calvin Klein shoes have also been welcomed to my family with open arms. As a Primark girl, these are probably my first pair of actual ‘expensive’ trainers, so it’s safe to say I am guarding them with my life. I am notoriously bad at keeping white trainers white, however I am determined to prove myself and others wrong with these beauties (with a little bit of help from crep protect spray of course).

I would simply describe these shoes as the perfect chunky trainer. Just the right amount of bulky so they fit the style but I can actually lift my feet off the ground without immense strain. I can also confirm, after doing thousands of steps on my trip to Nice, that these shoes are comfy enough for all day wear- what more could you want??

There you have a short, but sweet rundown of a few of my favourite things, all in one outfit. How convenient.

At a time where I constantly suffer from the omg-I-have-no-clothes dilemma, it’s nice to actually go out in a completely new outfit that I’m obsessed with! I am definitely going to be making these my staple summer items and I can’t wait to pair them with lots of different combinations in the coming months.

What’s your favourite item in your wardrobe at the moment? I’d love to know in the comments below!
