Spring Summer Lookbook With Motel Rocks

It feels somewhat conflicting right now to be in a summer mindset, considering we can’t quite enjoy the warm weather in the same way that we normally do. However, whilst we aren’t able to take part in all of our usual summer activities, one thing that doesn’t need to be compromised is our fashion sense. I don’t know about you, but I feel like being able to buy pretty outfits has somewhat mitigated the realisation that summer isn’t really going to be a thing this year. I mean, at least I can still look cute at home right?

When it comes to gorgeous summer prints, you can’t get much prettier than the ones from Motel Rocks, which is why I was over the moon to be able to collaborate with them recently to style some of my favourite items from their website! If you have read my post B*tch I’m a Cow, then you will know that I have always loved the brand and the variety of funky patterns they sell. So, I thought I would put together a little spring/summer lookbook for you guys to share some of my favourite items from Motel right now. All items featured were very kindly gifted to me for a collaboration over on my Instagram and I have provided links for all the items that are in stock below!

The bandana trend is so hot right now and if I’m honest, I wasn’t sure if I would be able to hop on the bandwagon without looking like an old lady, but I loved the look of this one so I thought I’d give it a whirl – and I was pleasantly surprised! Motel are known for their gorgeous co-ord sets and I thought this one was a cute little twist on the traditional two-piece.

I absolutely love the colour of the top and bandana, I have a lot of sage in my wardrobe now, so I’m loving trying out this new shade of mint green. The ditsy floral print is great for this time of year and I think it’s the perfect way to subtly do florals without it looking garish or tacky.

I am absolutely loving this style of top right now, I think the ruched detailing at the front is so flattering on anyone and just gives a basic top some really nice shape. The top is a lovely light material which is ideal for the warmer weather and it looks great with a whole range of different bottoms from simple jeans, to shorts or skirts! I paired it with this knitted white skirt from Boohoo that has a cute little ruffle hem.

I styled the bandana with my hair curled and I left the front strands out, I think this really compliments the ‘cute’ vibes I was going for and just gives your hair a bit more volume so that the bandana doesn’t look out of place. I absolutely love this outfit and I am going to style the co-ord in so many different ways throughout the season!

Since 2020 hasn’t gotten off to the greatest of starts, it seems appropriate to take a trip back to the 90s. I keep wondering if I will ever get tired of this trend, but then I see another mini bag or cute cami top and realise that I am well and truly obsessed. When I saw this little top on Motel, I knew it would be the perfect addition to my wardrobe! Not only is the butterfly trend very in right now, but these simple little tops are just so easy to style and look really cute with almost anything.

I opted to keep this look simple and cute, so I paired the top with some split hem mom jeans from Boohoo, and my favourite bag right now from Asos (yes it’s too small to fit my phone in, no I don’t care). I think having a little pop of colour in this look is the perfect way to finish it off and mini bags also give off such a 90s vibe like the t-shirt!

To finish off the look, I styled my hair in this cute af flicked pony tail, which is sort of becoming my go-to hairstyle right now because it’s so easy but looks so good! This outfit is simple, yet effective, and it I just looove how it all came together.

As we know, I am partial to a pair of funky trousers, and despite the fact that I am restricted to parading them around my living room, it hasn’t stopped my collection from growing. I was so in love with my cow print trousers, that I simply had to get them in one of Motel’s other gorgeous prints! Sticking with the animal theme, this time I opted for the Dalmatian print, Cruella De Vil eat your heart out.

As the trousers are such a statement piece, I paired them with this simple ribbed top also from Motel! I love the cut of this top because it is super flattering, without being too exposing, and it will literally go with anything in your wardrobe. I found it to be the perfect addition to this look and the tightness of the top balances out the flare of the trousers really nicely.

As for the trousers themselves, I have already professed my undying love for the cow print pair, but just to reiterate, these are the best fitting trousers I have ever worn in my life. They are tight but not too restricting, and a little bit stretchy, and the shape with the subtle flair at the bottom is just so flattering!

There really is nothing else to say about this look other than that I am OBSESSED with it. At this point I honestly want to get a pair of these trousers in every colour. Watch this space guys.

It wouldn’t be a spring / summer lookbook without a cute dress now would it? This is yet another thing that Motel are known for, and they had so many different styles on their website! My personal favourite style right now are the dresses that have cute little sleeves and a tie detail, so that’s exactly what I got!.

There were so many colours to choose from, but I thought this pink and red butterfly pattern was just such a cute style for the summer months!

I love the style of this dress because you can wear it on or off the shoulder and it looks really flattering either way. I also think it’s a great piece to style up with some heeled sandals, or you could keep it casual with some white trainers and socks for a cute daytime look!

This dress is perfect for the warm weather because although it fits nicely, it’s not restricting and the material is super light. I kept this look very stripped back as I think smaller details complimented the dress, so I just paired it with some little pearl earrings, had my hair loosely curled, and wore some matching pink eyeshadow!

So these are the looks I am absolutely loving right now, the dog walkers in my local park ain’t gonna know what’s hit them. As you can see from this post, one of the reasons Motel Rocks are so great is that they have such a range of styles to choose from, and I’m in love with all of the outfits I chose. Which one was your favourite? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. I love your outfits! My favourite is probably the last one, I’m in a mood for summer dresses right now! Also, I really like the bandana, the fact that it’s coordinated with the top makes the whole outfit even better!
